I am a multi-instrumentalist, teacher, DJ, and recording artist based on Vashon Island.
A lifelong student, I am grateful to have studied classical and jazz piano at a high level under skilled instruction. But I am equally grateful to have learned on my feet in the DIY music community, in addition to experiences in other academic pursuits and artistic genres, including filmmaking, writing, photography, and radio.
Having performed in numerous musical groups over the past twenty years as both a core member and a sit-in player, I’m now primarily focused on teaching work, writing, and recording sessions.
The wide diversity of my musical experiences informs my teaching philosophy. I believe that creative play and having fun with music is a spark to musical excellence, and that learning (and growing in my craft) is a constant, never-ending pursuit.
